History and Rivalry of the Food World Magic City Classic presented by Pepsi
The success of the Food World Magic City Classic presented by Pepsi football rivalry is easy to explain. It is a football series filled with all the ingredients of any successful football rivalry, close competition, great football action, fiercely loyal fans and pageantry. This game features Alabama A&M University and Alabama State University, two premier historic black colleges with long histories of tradition. On October 27th, the Food World Magic City Classic presented by Pepsi will celebrate its 66th anniversary, making it the longest continuous football rivalry staged annually in Birmingham, Alabama.
Alabama A&M and Alabama State Universities first met on the gridiron in 1924. After alternating sites between Montgomery and Huntsville, the game was moved to Legion field in Birmingham in 1940, and the Food World Magic City Classic was born. The two schools have since met annually, except for 1943 and 1944 because of World War II. Attendance has grown from the 20,000 fans that witnessed the 1940 game to the more than 68,000 spectators who packed Legion Field for the 2005 contest. Since 2005, the Magic City Classic has been ranked the 2nd largest black college football classic in the country.

The Food World Magic City Classic presented by Pepsi is pleased to announce that last year’s Classic topped the list of most attended black college football games in the country during 2007. This is the first time it has finished first on this list compiled annually by the Onnidan Group. Drawing more than 68,593 fans, the game set an all-time attendance record. We will be positioned right across from the Main Entrance (Gate 7B-7A) at the corner lot of Graymont Avenue and 5th Street West, adjacent to the Tide and Tiger Bar/Resturant. The lot is about 142x150, almost half a block the length of Graymont Avenue. We can do 20-25 vendors on this lot based on 10x10 spaces. If your exhibit requires more space please state the area size needed, ex. food concession trailer. (www.mapquest.com )

Independent recording artists, get on the lineup now for the 2008 Nda'Game Entertainment Magic City Classic Tailgating Block Party in Birmingham, AL., October 24th-25th weekend. The Number 1 Black College Football Game in the Country. We will be right across the street from the Main Entrance of Legion Field on Graymont Avenue (at 5th Street West next to Tide and Tiger Resturant) for 3 days with our exclusive customized stage on a half block mall of entertainment and vendor activities. Perform in front of crowds of people, make new fans and sell your music merchandise. Get multiple performances per day.
Artists, sign on for the Magic City Classic show early and get the option of also performing at Alabama A&M Homecoming (October 11) or Tuskegee University Homecoming (November 8) or SWAC Championship (December 15) as part of your sponsor package.
Optional vendor spaces are available.

Basic Vendor Information
o FOOD CONCESSION VENDOR SPACE FEE $750 PER TRAILER
2) Food vendors must also pay additionally and directly an application fee to the Jefferson County Health Department when they submit their application to set up their food concession. The fee is $100 if application is submitted 14 days before the event. A late fee applies if submitted less than 14 but more than 7 days prior to the event making the total fee $200. No applications accepted less than 7 days before the event. This is in addition to our vendor rights and space fee for NDaGame Entertainment.
